Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate Immigration Paralegal to join a leading boutique law firm in Madison, WI. Your critical role will involve comprehensive support to lawyers and clients handling various immigration matters. You will be exposed to a broad range of immigration cases covering employment-based petitions, family-based petitions, deportation defense, asylum, and humanitarian applications.

Primary Tasks:
- Conducting client intake meetings in English and Spanish and gathering pertinent documents.
- Delivering written and oral translations in Spanish to English and English to Spanish.
- Assisting lawyers with preparation and submission of immigration petitions, applications, and appeals.
- Staying abreast of legal issues and updates to immigration laws and regulations.
- Maintaining an effective record-keeping and case management systems.
- Corresponding with clients, governmental agencies, and other parties involved.
- Providing necessary administrative assistance to lawyers.
- Exhibiting sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural barriers.
Qualifications:
- A two or four-year degree and/or paralegal certification is preferred.
- Requires a minimum experience of 2 years in immigration law.
- Familiarity with USCIS filing procedures and EOIR Courts and Appeals System (ECAS) is favored.
- Must be fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal)
- Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be willing to learn new electronic programs.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, work efficiently, and anticipate required tasks for project completion.
